Kristen Jacobs, CEO/Founder and Project Manager

Title: CEO/Founder and Project Manager

Bio

I earned my bachelor degree in business administration concentrating in management.I am a certified scrum master, which is an agile methodology certification.I am a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and am working toward my project management professional certification.

I like to consider myself versatile.I’ve worked in the non-profit sector, managed volunteer committees and events in five counties, I’ve worked at a law firm as a legal assistant and file manager, and as a training specialist with Marine Corps Community Services, but I have 13 experience in banking primarily in operations, once again varied with positions ranging from teller, staff assistant, technical support, loans, manager in training to business operations analyst, process improvement analyst and project manager. Process improvement and project management are my passions.I love the structure of project management and I also love the changeability of projects.  The structure and framework may be consistent, but no project is identical and that keeps things interesting.

I am preparing to launch my project management consulting business, The Traveling PMO, and I am extremely excited.  My business will cater to busy professionals, corporations, small businesses and entrepreneurs who find themselves with projects to manage but either don't have time, don't have designated project managers and need support and also organizations that desire to and are ready to establish a project management office.  We consult and assist in designing a PMO that fits an organization's needs and culture.  To round out our services, we also offer project management training virtually, in person and digital.  The goal is to coach professionals to prevent overwhelm, overwork and burnout by prioritizing, delegating, team building, strength finding and focusing on the tasks that drive them and further instill passion and excitement.

I am married and have two young boys.I don’t have a ton of free time, but when I do, I enjoy hiking, reading, kayaking, and karaoke (When I was in college, I auditioned for American Idol).I love spending time with my family and traveling.

What I want to get from The Club is...

I want to sharpen my skills, network and learn from others who are driven, goal oriented and passionate about making a difference.
